Shrewsbury Man Gets Jail Time for Sex With Minor

A man from Shrewsbury was sentenced for having sex with a minor.

A Shrewsbury man was convicted of having sex with a minor in the Dominican Republic, and on Thursday was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 100 months in prison, reported the Worcester Telegram and Gazette.

Conrad Emile Gallant, 60, formerly of 112 Lakeside Drive, Shrewsbury, was charged with having sex with a minor from Feb. 2011 to Feb. 2012 with a girl, who was 14, in the Dominican Republic. Gallant pleaded guilty in April.  He was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 100 months in prison.

The Telegram also said that Gallant also had sexual relations with three other minors, including the victim's sister.

Judge Timothy Hillman sentenced Conrad to 100 months, but he was given credit for the 16 months already served, said the Telegram, and was imposed specific probation conditions for when he is released.
