Several Interested in Medical Marijuana Dispensaries in Shrewsbury
The state Department of Public Health received 14 applications to operate registered medical marijuana dispensaries with Worcester County as "the first county of preference."
Shrewsbury may be among the towns that is the home to a medical marijuana dispensary.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health said Friday that it has received 14 applications to operate registered medical marijuana dispensaries with Worcester County as "the first county of preference."
Shrewsbury Town Planner Kristen Las said that "We have received calls from several interested parties related to this subject" and that two organizations from Shrewsbury have applied for licenses with the DPH.
"Applicants were not required to submit a town in this stage of the application process," DPH Media Relations Manager Anne Roach said.
