Man Charged With 'Visciously' Beating Mother is Arraigned

A Shrewsbury man who was charged for beating his mother into unconsciousness was arraigned on Friday.

A Shrewsbury man charged with "visciously" beating his 83-year-old mother was held on $100,000 at his arraignment on Friday in Worcester Superior Court, reported the Worcester Telegram and Gazette. Sean C. Connolly, 44, of 30 Cross St., Shrewsbury was charged with assault and battery on a person over 60 with injury and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife) in November. Police: Two Men Arrested for Attempted Murder

Police arrested two men after a woman jumps from a car near Route 9.

On July 3rd, 2012 (Tuesday) at 0053 hours the Shrewsbury Police responded to the area of Route 9 and Harrington Avenue for a report of a woman who had jumped out of a car. When police arrived, the woman said she had met two men in Worcester and had agreed to have sex with them for a fee. The victim further described they then proceeded to a house at Main Circle in Shrewsbury. While in Shrewsbury, the woman said an altercation had allegedly occurred and the victim was choked and threatened by the two men and was not allowed to leave. The men then took the woman in their car where she claims she jumped from the car and asked for help at the CVS located on Route 9 & Harrington Avenue.
