Marlborough - Sister Theophane Smith (Eleanor Smith) died at Bethany HealthCare Center on Monday Dec. 3 after a long illness. She was 102 years of age and had been a Sister of the Good Shepherd for 81 years. Shrewsbury - Paul J. Leary, 83, a longtime Shrewsbury resident and proud Army veteran died Sunday, Dec. 2 in The Rose Monahan Hospice Residence after an illness. Paul was a true and honorable veteran of the United States Army where he actively served as Chief Warrant Officer for 22 years serving in the Korean and Vietnam Wars receiving a Bronze Star. Robert C. “Boppie” Gwyther, 87 of Oxford, died Saturday, Nov. 17, after an illness. Gwyther worked for EJ Cross as a master painter for nearly 50 years. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Submarine Corps aboard the U.S.S. Besugo and the U.S.S. Charr. Gwyther was a member of the American Legion and the Painters Allied Union. Everett F. Fitzgerald, 85, of Shrewsbury and formerly of Natick, died Thursday, November 15 in St. Vincent’s hospital after a brief illness. He worked for many years as a branch manager at hoover Vacuum in Natick. He later owned and operated a Thrifty Rent-a-Car franchise and worked as a salesman for Hamilton Beach. Shirley A. Richard J. Stein, 82, of Northborough and Schenectady, NY, died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 11 in Schenectady. During the Korean Conflict he served with the U.S. Army and worked as a polymer chemist before his retirement. Chester Vilian, of Holden, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 13, at 87. He served his country during World War II in the United States Army in its 38th Infantry. Vilian crossed the English Channel and landed on Omaha Beach near St. Laurent-Sur-Meron during the D-Day Plus One Invasion at Normandy. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart after being wounded in action. Roger J. Moulin died Tuesday, November 13, at 48 years-old of after a valiant battle with cancer. George J. Rozell, Jr., 89, of Auburn, died on Nov. 9 at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, following an illness. George was a proud veteran of World War II, serving as a paratrooper in the US Army and being stationed in the European Theater. He saw service in the Ardennes in Belgium and the Rhineland. He received as Purple Heart for injuries during battle and three Bronze Service Stars. John M. Risotti Sr., 90, died on the evening of Nov. 7 after a short period of failing health. He was the husband of Eva (Spurio) Risotti to whom he was married for 67 years. Leah C. Tepper, 19, of Stow, MA died Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Children's Hospital, Boston after a long battle with adrenal cancer. A 2011 graduate of Nashoba Regional High School, in Bolton, she was active in softball, volleyball, the Drama Club and chorus. Sister Ernestine Barrette, a Sister of St. Anne, known in religion as Sister Mary Edward, died at the age of 95 at Marie Esther Health Center on Thursday, November 1. Evelyn M. Collins, 87, of Brandon, FL, formerly of Westborough, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Hawthorne Village in Brandon.
