Press release submitted by the school department: The School Department is finalizing the bus routes for the upcoming school year. If you are planning to have your child ride the bus and have not already registered, please do so immediately, as once bus routes are finalized they will not be changed due to late registrations. Please be reminded that registrations done at this time are subject to a late fee of $50 per child ($100 maximum per family). The bus registration process must be done online through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. You will need a username and password to access your account, which is the information to set up your account was sent to each home in April. With the summer almost upon us, it's time to start reading in the summer.
Many of the local schools are encouraging their students to keep up with their reading in the summer. All year, students have worked hard to become proficient in reading and they can lose a lot of their skills if they don't continue reading in the summer. The Shrewsbury Public Schools offers summer reading lists here. The Shrewsbury Public Library also has opened registration for their summer reading program here. The kickoff event for the library's summer reading program is on Thursday, June 23 from 3 to 7 p.m. There will be games, a caricature artist, face painting and even an antiques appraiser for the first 20 adults that come in.
