Police Speak to Picketer at Post Office, Aggressive Driver

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, April 23 10:13 a.m.: A caller from Wesleyan Street reported fireworks or gunshots in the area. An officer responded and confirmed the noise was coming from the nearby gun range. 10:19 a.m.: A picketer at the Shrewsbury Post Office was advised not to block traffic or the sidewalk. 3:29 p.m.: An officer spoke to a resident of South Quinsigamond regarding a past break-in. The officer determined that no break-in had occurred. 5:22 p.m.: A caller reported that they crashed after being ran off the road on Hartford turnpike. An officer spoke to the driver of the other vehicle. 8:12 p.m.: A caller from Walgreens reported that items had been stolen from the store.

Hazmat Spill at Flynn's, Animals Removed From Chimney

Monday, April 22 9:36 a.m.: The Animal Control Officer assisted a resident of Bluegrass Lane with the removal of an animal in their chimney. 11:46 a.m.: A caller from Moulton Avenue reported a missing female. 1:20 p.m.: The Animal Control Officer removed a raccoon family from a garage on Hartford Turnpike. 3:19 p.m.: Officers assisted the Shrewsbury Fire Department with a car crash and hazmat spill at Flynn’s Truck Stop. 5:05 p.m.: Two vehicles were towed after a crash on Hartford Turnpike. 6:39 p.m.: An officer arrested Michael Ostiguy, 22, of 5 Lanark St., Worcester on charges of larceny from a building, larceny from a person older than 65, forgery of a check and passing false checks. 8:56 p.mm.: A caller requested a well being check of …

Friday, April 19 8:22 a.m.: A caller from Smith Lane reported a kayak they had found on the lake. 3:00 p.m.: An officer took a report of theft from Shrewsbury Crossing. 3:07 p.m.: A caller from Spring Street reported a possible break-in in progress. Officers responded but there was no indication of an attempt to gain entry. 5:37 p.m.: Officers arrested Bryan W. Tuesday, April 16 1:52 p.m.: A caller from Arbor Drive reported attempted larceny of tires. The caller said it could have occurred a week ago. 5:41 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Boston Turnpike and arrested Rigoberto Vasquez-Mendoza, 17 of 50 Franklin St., Apt. 7T, Worcester. He faced warrant charges of operating with a suspended license and two moped violations. 7:19 p.m.: A caller from Latura Street reported that someone tried to break-in to their vehicle overnight. 11:20 p.m.: An officer from the Shrewsbury Police Department took a report of a stolen vehicle from Commons Drive. Shrewsbury Man Sentenced to Two Years for 2011 Burglaries

The man was arrested in October 2011 after he was caught in the act.

Shrewsbury resident Nathan St. Pierre, 21, of 12 Beacon St. was sentenced to two years and one day in prison today in Worcester Superior Court according to the Worcester Telegram. St. Pierre was arrested on Oct. 1, 2011, after he was caught during a break-in on Wolcott Road. The Telegram reports that while being questioned by police after his arrest St. Pierre admitted to seven other break-ins. Jewelry, a firearm and other items were reportedly stolen by St. Pierre during the break-ins. St. Pierre's attorney said her client was addicted to drugs at the time he was committing the crimes and has since undergone rehabilitation

Teen Arrested After Attempted Break-In, Dog Hit by Car

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, April 14 1:39 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Grafton Street and arrested Jessica Hurley, 30, of 144 School St., Boylston. Hurley was arrested on warrant charges of speeding, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating with a suspended license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. 2:10 a.m.: A 911 caller from Neptune Drive and reported a break-in in progress. Officers responded and arrested Danielle Cournoyer, 18, of 111 Boylston Cir. Cournoyer was charged with trespassing. 3:18 p.m.: An officer from the Shrewsbury Police Department took a report of a bike that was stolen from Sias Avenue. 3:52 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Boston Turnpike and seized cash and narcotics. 9:55 p.m.: A caller reported that she…

Trespassing at St. Anne's, Man Charged With Larceny

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Friday, April 12 11:00 a.m.: A driver crashed their car on Harrington Avenue. The car was towed. 11:55 a.m.: A 911 caller St. Anne’s reported that a male who was ringing the doorbell was not allowed on the property. 2:52 p.m.: Officers responded to a two-car crash on Main Street. No injuries were reported but one car was towed. 7:20 p.m.: Officers arrested Michael J. Ostiguy, 22, of 5 Lanark St., Worcester on charges of larceny from a building, larceny from a person over the age of 65, check forgery and using false checks. Saturday, April 13 8:59 a.m.: A caller from Eaton Avenue reported a speeding four-wheeler. Thursday, April 11 9:00 a.m.: The Animal Control Officer responded to Bunkerhill Road to check a report of baby raccoons. 9:23 a.m.: A caller from Arbor Drive reported a domestic incident. George Lopez, 22, of 2131 Arbor Dr. was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery, kidnapping, rape, resisting arrest, possession of ammunition without a federal ID card and threatening to commit a crime. 1:23 p.m.: A caller from Building 19 reported illegal dumping and advised that the business’s corporate office would be handling the incident. 3:42 p.m.: A caller from Founders Road reported a suspicious male dressed in all black. Wednesday, April 10 7:43 a.m.: An officer from the Shrewsbury Police Department reported past vandalism to their motor vehicle. 8:48 a.m.: The Animal Control Officer responded to a report of an injured hawk on Baker Avenue. 12:10 p.m.: A caller from Boylston Street reported that their mailbox had been hit knocked over earlier in the day. 5:10 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Hartford Turnpike.
