Students Head to the New Sherwood School This Week

After lots of anticipation and excitement, the students finally head over to classes at the brand new Sherwood School.

On Wednesday morning, students will parade from their old school to a newly built, state of the art building. The new Sherwood Middle School, which serves fifth and sixth graders, will open its doors ahead of schedule and under budget. The Shrewsbury Lantern took readers on a virtual tour, complete with a photo gallery, of this flagship building. Voters approved in March of 2010 the debt exclusion of $23.3 million to fund the construction of the project, which had been approved at Town Meeting on Feb. 9, 2010.
