Shrewsbury, Northborough Dancers Win Medals in Regional Dance Competition

Westborough’s Rhythm Dance Company saw 14 of its entries reach the top 10 of their division, and earned 17 elite gold medals, 21 gold medals, and 12 high silvers, at the Headliners’ Regional Competition held from Jan. 25 to Jan. 27 in Worcester. RDC brought 50 solos, duos and trios to the competition. Headliners awards two soloists from each age division the title of Miss Headliner. The age divisions are Child Soloist, Junior Soloist, Teen Soloist, and Senior Soloist. VIDEO: Dancers Perform for Paton Playground Project

Dancers from the Rhythm Dance Company in Westborough performed at the Shrewsbury High School Friday night to raise money for the Paton School playground project. "It was a great event and we were happy to do it," said Nicole Kelley, owner and director of the dance company. "The dancers loved being on stage for a great cause." The Rhythm Dance Company has both recreational and competitive classes for students from age 2 to 18 in many forms of dance including ballet, hip hop, contemporary and modern. To donate to the Paton Playground Project go to the PTO's website. They are planning to start building the playground in the spring.
