Woman Arrested for Drunk Driving After Tires 'Totally Shredded'

A Shrewsbury woman was arrested on Oak Street this weekend.

A Shrewsbury woman was arrested for drunken driving after one of her tires was "totally shredded" early Sunday, Westborough Police Chief Alan Gordon said today. Juliana Bacelar, 22, of 6 Waterville Lane, Shrewsbury had pulled over on Oak Street, and told police she "hit something with her tire," Gordon said. Police had responded to Oak at Park streets at 2:01 a.m. for a report of suspicious activity, according to the Westborough Police log. Police charged Bacelar with operating under the influence of liquor (.08 per se).

Worcester Roman Catholic Bishop Arrested for Drunk Driving

Bishop Robert McManus was arrested on Saturday evening.

Following a hit and run in Narragansett, RI, on Saturday night, Worcester Roman Catholic Bishop Robert McManus was arrested for drunk driving, reported CBS Boston.  CBS Boston also ran a statement from McManus, which was released on Monday morning, in which he wrote, "There is no excuse for the mistake I made, only a commitment to make amends and accept the consequences of my action. More importantly, I ask forgiveness from the good people whom I serve, as well as my family and friends, in the Diocese of Worcester and the Diocese of Providence." McManus was arrested while at his vacation home shortly after the hit and run. He will be arraigned on Tuesday.

Fight Between Roommates Leads to an Arrest

A man has been arrested with A&B with a dangerous weapon and other charges after an argument between roommates.

A man faces multiple charges, including A&B with a dangerous weapon, after he allegedly sped off from an argument, striking the victim with his car, damaging a lawn and driving drunk, said police. Jorge Antonio Rodriques, 53, who lists his address as 259 Southwest Cutoff Rd. in Worcester, was arrested and charged with A&B with a dangerous weapon (a car), destruction of property more than $250, malicious unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and OUI (liquor). On Tuesday, Feb. 26, Shrewsbury police responded at 9:50 p.m. to 12 Pleasant St. where an argument between roommates had escalated. Reportedly Drunk Man Arraigned After Falling Asleep at Wheel

Also in Westborough District Court Wednesday, a man was sentenced to probation on a drunken driving charge.

Wednesday, Nov. 21   Bentley N. Morrall, 23, of 245 Pine Cone Strand, Acton, was arrested by Northborough police and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Judge Vito Virzi released Morrall on personal recognizance and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Jan. 2. According to a police report, an officer allegedly found Morrall passed out behind the wheel of his car at the Honey Farms market just after 2 a.m. Tuesday.  Eduardo Diaz, 33, of 2A Pelham St., Apt. 2, Worcester, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Shrewsbury police to face a charge of permitting unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. In Court: Third OUI, Wegman's Larceny

The following cases were heard in Westborough District Court.

Monday, Oct. 1 Brian A. Dolliff, 35, of 43 South St., Apt. 2, Westborough, was arraigned before Judge Vito Virzi on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, third offense, and failure to stop or yield. Dolliff had been arrested by Westborough police early Monday morning on East Main Street. In his report, the arresting officer said he had to swerve his cruiser to avoid being struck by Dolliff's car. Dolliff was released on $2,000 bail, ordered not to drive a motor vehicle, and is due back in court on Nov. 14. Jeffrey M. Lavin, 35, of 3 Versailles St., Marlborough, was summonsed to court on a complaint from the Southborough Police Department on charges of driving with a suspended license and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. …

Wednesday, Sept. 26    Timothy L. O'Regan, 25, of 127 N. Main St., West Boylston, was summonsed on a complaint by Westborough police on charges of operating with a suspended license and speeding. Judge David Locke set a pretrial hearing for Oct. 25.  Erin L. Moran, 37, of 76 Fisher St., Westborough, was arrested by Westborough police on Sept. 24 and charged with operating under the influence of liquor. According to a police report, Moran was involved in a two-car accident at Milk and Maynard streets at 7:54 pm. and told the arresting officer that she had consumed three beers earlier in the evening. Shrewsbury Woman Charged With Hitting Three Cars, Violating Restraining Order

A Shrewsbury woman was arrested by Northborough police last week.

A Shrewsbury woman was pulled over by police on Belmont Street in Northborough after she crossed over a marked lane and struck another vehicle, and was ultimately charged with OUI, leaving the scene of property damage and violating an abuse prevention order. Teresa L. Bracken, 46, 69 Stoney Hill Rd., Shrewsbury, was arrested on Aug. 16 at 9:30 p.m. and charged with violating an abuse prevention order, marked lanes violation, leaving the scene of property damage, OUI and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. According to Northborough police, Bracken struck a motor vehicle on Belmont Street (Route 9) and drove away without identifying herself.
