Date to Run in Town Election Passed, Clerk Says 'Everyone Was Informed'

Originally, the date to turn in nominations papers was March 19, but was moved to March 12.

Either way, the date has now passed to run as a candidate in the annual town election, happening on April 30 (moved from the original date of May 7). Shrewsbury Patch will post the final candidates list on Thursday. March 12 was the official deadline for nomination papers to be turned into the clerk's office, the date moved from the original March 19 deadline. But Shrewsbury resident Daniel Zuba said he was unaware of the deadline, and missed the official timestamp on turning in his candidacy filing to run for School Committee. Who Should Run For Town Office This Spring?

The first day to get on the ballot is Jan. 22; who would you like to see run?

Town Election Day is less than four months away. Nomination papers for the Annual Town Election will be available at the Town Clerk's office beginning on Jan. 22.  Nomination papers must be returned to the town clerk's office by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, for certification.  Shrewsbury's town election is May 7.
