Police scanner reports indicate that a crash happened involving a car and a tractor trailer on I-290 West between exits 22 and 23. The report indicated "minor injuries." Use caution in the area, alerted Massachusetts State Police.

10:20 a.m. Massachusetts State Police, responding to the crash westbound on I-290 in Northborough (near the Marlborough line) said it has limited information at this time and no information on the condition of the pedestrian or the truck driver. The right and middle lanes are currently closed and expected to be for some time. Seek an alternate route if possible. 9:30 a.m.: A pedestrian was struck on I-290 west at the Marlborough line, according to a breaking news alert received by Patch. Another person has died after injuries sustained in a crash on Saturday night.
A North Grafton woman is dead after a crash on Route 20 Saturday evening. On Dec. 8th at approximately 8:30 pm the Shrewsbury Police responded to the intersection of Route 20 and Grafton St. for a report of a two car motor vehicle accident with injuries. Shrewsbury Police determined that a 2004 Audi A-4 was traveling East on Route 20 when it collided with a 2007 Honda Civic which was traveling north on Grafton St. crossing Route 20. Steven Cabral of Hudson, 25 years old, operated the Audi. The Honda was operated by Elaine Barber, 60, Snow Road, North Grafton. Shrewsbury Police, Shrewsbury Fire and U-Mass paramedics were at the scene and both operators were transported U-Mass University Campus Hospital. Barber was pronounced dead a short …

A multi-car crash happened on Route 20 near Shrewsbury Village Shopping Center.
Update 3:15 p.m.: The Shrewsbury Police Department has released a statement say the crash involved only two vehicles. The crash occurred at the intersection of Route 20 and Valentine Drive. "It appears that a 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche operated by John Ford of Worcester was traveling East on Rt. 20 when he attempted to turn left into the plaza. The other vehicle involved was a 2005 Subaru Legacy traveling West on Rt. 20 operated by Steven Diaz of Nashua, NH when the collision occurred. As a result of the collision the Chevrolet Avalanche ended up on its roof. The Subaru briefly caught fire but was extinguished immediately," the police statement said. Police have released the identity of the man who was struck and killed on Route 20 Thursday evening.
On Thursday, Nov. 26, a man was struck and killed by an SUV while crossing Route 20 in Shrewsbury. The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Timothy J. Sullivan, 151 Hartford Turnpike, Shrewsbury. The accident remains under investigation by Officer Richard H Fiske, Shrewsbury Police Accident Reconstructionist.

A pedestrian was hit on Route 9 on Tuesday evening.
A homeless man was struck during rush-hour traffic on Route 9 in Shrewsbury on Tuesday, according to police. At 5:42 p.m., Shrewsbury police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. The pedestrian and driver were on the scene when officers arrived. Police determined that the pedestrian was crossing Route 9 from the median across the westbound lane when he was struck by a 2005 Subaru Legacy, driven by Joann Carson, 56, from Canton. Carson was not injured. The pedestrian, Joseph Liberty, a 58-year-old homeless man, was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester. He 'suffered a medical issue' while driving, police say.
A Westborough teenager was pinned inside a car that was wedged under the rear of an oil delivery truck on South Street this afternoon, Westborough Police said. Zachary Diamond, 17, of 27 Cook St., "suffered a medical issue" while driving a 2001 Lexus south on South Street around noon, the investigation by Officer Jeffrey Keaveney showed, Police Chief Alan Gordon said in a press release today. Diamond then lost control of the car and "ran into the rear of the truck which was proceeding in the same direction," near 132 South St., Gordon said. The 2005 Freightliner owned by Al's Oil in Shrewsbury was driven by Alfred Perron, 37, of 2 Laurel St., Oxford. A crash at the center of the town demolished the clock at the town center.
The black clock at the center island near Maple Avenue and West Main Street was hit by a truck earlier this week. It was knocked down. The clock was donated to the town by the Shrewsbury Rotary Club. "The town has referred the matter to Bartlett, a company that assists with insurance claims," said Selectman Moira Miller. "Barlett will handle all insurance paper work in addition to construction to see that the clock is replaced. Estimated repair costs are $20-30k. The town fully expects that the clock will be replaced at no cost to the taxpayer." Shrewsbury Rotary Club Member Art Dobson submitted the photo of the clock after the accident. The Grafton crash has traffic backed up into Shrewsbury.
A Grafton crash has traffic backed up into Shrewsbury on Route 140. At least one person was transported to the hospital following a messy multi-vehicle crash this afternoon on Route 140 Grafton. The crash forced police to detour drivers down side streets, causing serious back-ups. A dump truck carrying asphalt was overturned in the crash. Three other vehicles were apparently involved. Crews were on the scene shoveling asphalt from the truck in an effort to clear the road. The truck carried the name of Riley Brothers Utility Contractors. One car, with a deflated airbag, rested on a nearby lawn, its back wheel off the ground. The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. near the Shrewsbury town line.
