The meet and greet is April 22.
The three Republican candidates for U.S. Senate visit Westborough eight days before voters head to the polls. The Republican town and city committees of Westborough, Northborough, Marlborough and Southborough sponsor a meet and greet with Gabriel Gomez, Michael Sullivan and Daniel Winslow from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, April 22 at Julio's Liquors, in the Westborough Shopping Center, at the intersection of Route 9 at Lyman Street. Admission is free to all Massachusetts Unenrolled and Republican voters, organizers said today in a press release. Originally, the date to turn in nominations papers was March 19, but was moved to March 12.
Either way, the date has now passed to run as a candidate in the annual town election, happening on April 30 (moved from the original date of May 7). Shrewsbury Patch will post the final candidates list on Thursday. March 12 was the official deadline for nomination papers to be turned into the clerk's office, the date moved from the original March 19 deadline. But Shrewsbury resident Daniel Zuba said he was unaware of the deadline, and missed the official timestamp on turning in his candidacy filing to run for School Committee. Nomination papers have been available for the annual town election since Jan. 22, with a deadline of March 19 for certification. The town election is April 30 (note, this election date was moved from the original May 7 date).
