Meet Tory Benoit

Benoit was named Female Athlete of the Week at Roger Williams University.

Sophomore women's soccer player Tory Benoit, of Shrewsbury, has been named the Roger Williams University Female Athlete of the Week.

Benoit scored two goals in a 3-minute span as the Hawks picked up their first win of the season, defeating Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Eastern Nazarene by a score of 4-0. Benoit scored in the 76th minute when she collected the rebound off her own shot following a cross from Laurin Pendelton. Benoit found the back of the net again in the 79th minute on a cross from Alexa Maher.

Benoit is the former standout soccer, basketball, and tennis captain. She was vice-president of her class and founder of Colonials for a Cure.

She is a member of the Hawks soccer and track teams, Soar Leadership team, RA for Willows Housing. She particiaptes in alternate Spring break, building houses in Fort Smith Arkansas last spring with Habitat for Humanity.

She is the daughter of Annemarie Hurley and grandaughter of Jim Hurley, both of Shrewsbury.
