As a gesture honoring the lost lives of the Sandy Hook tragedy in Newtown CT, local filmmakers joined director Ben Proulx to create “26 Angels”, a video featuring an original song by Boston musician and Berklee College of Music alumni, Justin Cohen.

Twenty children, ages 12 and under, sang the song with Justin, backed by 5 other musicians, totaling 20 children and 6 adults to represent the 26 victims of Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Six Shrewsbury students—Matt and Sam Thomann, Dante and Gianni Colonero, and Syra Pandey—performed in the video, according to the Shrewsbury Lantern.

The video is being used as part of a campaign to raise funds to help design and construct a memorial park on the land formerly occupied by Sandy Hook Elementary, said the release. The community has decided to tear down the Sandy Hook Elementary School and in its place they will build a memorial park where people can come to come together to mourn, to remember, and hopefully, to heal.
