Could Sponsorships Alleviate Athletic Cuts?

The superintendent suggests raising funds to save sports.

Superintendent of Schools Joseph Sawyer suggests that the district should reach out for sponsorships from local businesses to offset cuts in the schools' athletic programs, reported the Shrewsbury Daily Voice.

Sawyer added that the goal is to raise $75,000 in sponsorships this year.

Sponsorships could range from ads in the school's paper to announcements at the games to inclusion on the website.
