Dean Park Pizza to Close by End of February

The legendary pizza place will re-open under new ownership.

Slowly, they are telling their customers.

As of Feb. 24, Dean Park Pizza will close for renovations and will re-open under new ownership, according to a longtime employee of the pizza place.

According to the employee, Christo Baltas, whose parents were the original owners of Dean Park Pizza, has purchased the business from present owner Louie Karageorgis (who has owned it for 16 years).

"They were very well known to people who grew up in the area," wrote the employee, who hopes, along with others, to return to work. The new owner offered jobs to everyone who wishes to return.

Baltas will create a website and Facebook page so folks can follow the progress of renovations.

"Many changes will be happening to the building," wrote the employee, "but it will continue to be a family restaurant."

DPP is NOT closing today - in fact they'll be open for a few more weeks. I think Patch should run a new story as this info is no longer accurate and could potentially hurt their business if people think they are closed. I went for a "last supper" today and they told me the good news. They are a great local business, have super friendly staff, and great food. I would hate to see their business hurt in any way.
