Dean Park Pizza to Close by End of February

The legendary pizza place will re-open under new ownership.

Slowly, they are telling their customers.

As of Feb. 24, Dean Park Pizza will close for renovations and will re-open under new ownership, according to a longtime employee of the pizza place.

According to the employee, Christo Baltas, whose parents were the original owners of Dean Park Pizza, has purchased the business from present owner Louie Karageorgis (who has owned it for 16 years).

"They were very well known to people who grew up in the area," wrote the employee, who hopes, along with others, to return to work. The new owner offered jobs to everyone who wishes to return.

Baltas will create a website and Facebook page so folks can follow the progress of renovations.

"Many changes will be happening to the building," wrote the employee, "but it will continue to be a family restaurant."
