Shrewsbury Receives Additional Roadwork Funding From Chapter 90

A statement release by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation announced an extra $50 million in Chapter 90 funds for Massachusetts towns.

Shrewsbury will now receive a total of $986,194 to maintain roads and bridges throughout the town.

The total amount of Chapter 90 funding distributed by the state this year matches the amount give to towns last year.

"Today I am announcing that we are releasing a total of $200 million in Chapter 90 funding for fiscal year 2014, equaling last year's historic amount," Secretary of Transportation Richard A. Davey said in a letter to administrators.
