Lake Quinsig's Advisory Lifted

Officials on July 4 lifted the advisory warning residents to avoid swimming and fishing in Lake Quinsigamond.

The Worcester Division of Public Health announced that results from water quality sampling showed that the levels had returned to normal, and the advisory was lifted immediately.

“All samples obtained from Lake Quinsigamond indicate that the water has returned to acceptable water quality standards,” said Michael P. Hirsh, MD, acting commissioner of Public Health. “We are happy to report that the Division of Public Health is lifting the advisory and encouraging the public to resume normal activities in the area.”
