Man Charged With Intent to Murder

Wednesday, July 31

3:07 a.m.: An officer responded to a suspicious person at the entrance to the Shrewsbury Commons Apartments. Juan Carlos Toro-Santiago, 18, of 36 Coral St., Worcester, was arrested on warrant charges of trespassing, disturbing the peace, defacing property, nighttime breaking and entering, assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault with intent to murder, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm without a license and discharge a firearm within 500 feet of a building.

9:14 a.m.: A caller reported a theft from one of the apartments at the Shrewsbury Housing Authority on North Quinsigamond.

9:36 a.m.: The Animal Control Officer attempted to speak with a resident of Walnut Street concerning their chickens.

12:36 p.m.: A caller from White City Shopping Center reported a male panhandling. An officer responded and spoke to the man who was not causing any problems.

1:37 p.m.: A caller from Spring Street reported a suspicious man coming out of the woods. Officers checked the area but the man was not located.

Thursday, Aug. 1

6:17 a.m.: A caller reported a boat floating with no occupants near the Route 290 bridge. The boat was secured at a boat ramp.

10:52 a.m.: A caller reported that one of the concession stands at Dean Park had been broken into and a second stand showed signs of an attempted break-in.

5:05 p.m.: A caller from Main Street reported that their house had been broken into.

9:54 p.m.: One person was hospitalized after a crash at the intersection of Main Street and North Quinsigamond Avenue. Both of the vehicles involved were towed.
