'Rifle' is Actually an Umbrella; Arrests for Car Theft, Domestic Assault

The following information was supplied by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Incidents, Sunday, Sept. 1 

12:55 a.m.: Suspicious phone calls reported, Grafton Street 

5:24 a.m.: Call about a man sleeping in back entrance to building on Boston Turnpike 

1:38 p.m.: Suspicious person in a place of business on Boston Turnpike 

2:11 p.m.: Resident from High Street calls to report that she hears a couple fighting and children are crying. It is a verbal argument between father and son. Father leaves. 

2:33 p.m.: Female has severe burns, Boston Turnpike. Transported to hospital. 

5:13 p.m.: Officers respond to a call about a stolen MV out of Lowell. Hotel room in Shrewsbury checked, leading to a foot chase with State Police/K9 unit. Jeffrey Lamoureux, 31, 15 Veterans Way, Lowell, arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, resisting arrest 

Incidents, Monday, Sept. 2 

1:19 a.m.: Domestic situation on Shrewsbury Green Drive 

1:44 a.m.: Female in the roadway, Boston Turnpike 

2:15 a.m.: Suspicious person rang doorbell on Kemble Drive 

9:05 a.m.: Lawn chairs reported missing from Howe Ave

11:44 a.m.: Attempted scam, Boston Turnpike 

12:44 p.m.: Two-car MVA with no injuries, Route 9 

1:41 p.m.: Erratic operator on Route 9 

1:58 p.m.: A resident called to report a man on Maple Street in a white T-shirt who "is carrying a hunting rifle." Police respond and find that the man is carrying an umbrella. 

4:47 p.m.: Two-car MVA with no injury, Main Street 

5:03 p.m.: 911 call for a verbal domestic on Howe Ave. Jarret Lapierre, 75 Howe Ave., Shrewsbury, arrested and charged with assault and possession of a Class A substance 

9:20 p.m.: West Boylston PD issues BOLO for a missing/suicidal white female from West Boylston. She did not show up for work at Walmart, but vehicle is in lot. Left suicide notes behind.
