Police Log: Vandalized Political Signs, Coyote Vs. Road Kill

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Nov. 1

9:01 a.m.: A caller from Colonial Drive reported stolen and vandalized political signs.

10:02 p.m.: A caller reported a coyote eating road kill at the intersection of Lake Street and Grove Street. Animal Control was notified.

11:11 a.m.: An officer responded to a two-car crash on Memorial Drive. One vehicle was towed and one person was transported to the hospital.

4:36 p.m.: A caller reported a male going house to house on Walnut Drive taking trash. An officer responded and spoke to the man who was taking cans out of recycling bins.

4:59 p.m.: A caller reported a woman who appeared intoxicated stumbling in to traffic. Officers responded and transported her to the Worcester City Motel.

6:18 p.m.: Officers responded to a panic alarm from Spring Street. Upon arrival they arrested Matthew Russell, 23, of 70 Spring Street. Russell was charged with assault and battery.

8:55 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Elizabeth Street. The vehicle was towed for having a canceled registration and the operator was given a criminal citation.

10:35 p.m.: A resident of Edgewater Avenue went in to the Shrewsbury Police Department to report a larceny.
