Police Log: Speeding Driver Arrested, Several Car Crashes

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Jan. 7

8:21 a.m.: Officers responded to a single car crash on South Street. The vehicle was towed and one person was taken to the hospital.

2:05 p.m.: An officer responded to a two-car crash on South Street. One vehicle was towed and no injuries were reported.

2:17 p.m.: An officer responded to a report of a vehicle smashing mailboxes on Old Mill Road. The report was unfounded.

3:17 p.m.: The Shrewsbury Fire Department came across a two-car crash on Main Street at Route 290. One vehicle was towed.

4:04 p.m.: A 10-year-old was transported to the hospital after sustaining a head injury in a computer lab at Sherwood Middle School.

4:30 p.m.: Officers conducted LIDAR speed monitoring on Boston Turnpike and Oak Street. Several vehicles were stopped and ticketed.

4:37 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Oak Street and arrested Isaac Dzomeku, 35, of 40 King St., Apt. 3, Worcester. Dzomeku was charged with speeding and operating with a suspended license.

8:39 p.m.: Officers were advised to be on the lookout for a carjacking suspect out of Worcester.

9:31 p.m.: The general manager of Willy’s Steakhouse reported an argumentative guest. The guest left before officers were able to responded.
