Police Log: Smashing Pumpkins, K-9 Search

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Oct. 27

12:16 a.m.: Multiple callers reported a dark sedan on Avalon Way sounding the horn. The vehicle was gone when an officer from the Shrewsbury Police Department responded.

12:33 a.m.: An officer spoke with a suspicious male at the Oak Middle School. The male was a custodian.

3:08 a.m.: A caller reported a group of youths smashing pumpkins on Main Boulevard. The youths were gone when an officer responded.

3:39 a.m.: A caller reported an expired animal on Hartford Turnpike.  The Highway Department was contacted to remove the coyote.

4:03 a.m.: A caller from Keyes House Road reported a loud party that had been going on all night. Officers responded but did not find a party.

7:29 a.m.: A resident of Main Boulevard reported smashed pumpkins and lawn chairs that were thrown in to the road.

11:00 a.m.: A caller from Hillside Drive reported a fire alarm sounding but no smoke or fire. The Shrewsbury Fire Department responded.

11:46 a.m.: An officer advised a resident of Bay View Drive that their boat and trailer were violating parking laws.

5:13 p.m.: A caller from a salon at 50 Boston Turnpike reported that her wedding rings were misplaced and lost by staff. An officer responded and took a report.

6:43 p.m.: A caller reported that a German shepherd bit him on Vinnie Way.

6:56 p.m.: A caller from Cherry Street reported a group of eight youths wondering the neighborhood with backpacks on.

8:13 p.m.: A caller from Bracken Road reported teens smashing pumpkins in the area.

10:41 p.m.: An officer advised partygoers on Lake View Avenue to go inside after a neighbor reported a noise disturbance.

Sunday, Oct. 28

1:02 a.m.: A customer from Sunoco reported a marijuana violation. An officer responded and followed up with management.

12:35 p.m.: A caller from Saturn Drive reported items stolen from their yard.

4:19 p.m.: A resident reported being hit by a car on South Quinsigamond near White City Plaza.

5:35 p.m.: A resident of Saturn Drive reported vandalism in their yard.

7:00 p.m.: A caller from Stoney Hill Road reported an attempted break-in. A male wearing a black hoodie was seen leaving the back deck on foot. The k-9 unit was used in a search.
