Police Log: Man Charged With Assaulting Police Officer

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Feb. 9

3:03 p.m.: A 911 caller reported a drunk female in the CVS parking lot. The female and a male who was trying to help her left in a vehicle before an officer could arrive.

4:03 p.m.: A caller reported a road hazard caused by a snow bank on Hartford Turnpike. The snow was being moved when an officer arrived.

5:05 p.m.: A caller reported trucks pulling people on sleds around the Building 19 parking lot. The vehicles were gone when an officer arrived.

6:57 p.m.: The Shrewsbury Fire Department responded to a report of natural gas on Saunders Drive.

8:27 p.m.: A caller reported a domestic assault on Lake Street. Daniel Zuba, 44, of 562 Lake St., was arrested. Zuba was charged with domestic assault and battery and witness intimidation.

9:48 p.m.: A 911 caller reported an out of control 22-year-old on Everett Avenue. Jeff E. Felch III, 22, of 19 Everett Ave., was arrested. Felch was charged with assault and battery, assault and battery on a police officer, destruction of property over $250, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

Sunday, Feb. 10

11:38 a.m.: Officers responded to a report of stolen phones at the Worcester City Motel. David Fornace, 37, of 660 Main St., Apt. 511, Worcester was arrested on warrant charges of shoplifting, trespassing and a by-law violation.

4:26 p.m.: A caller from Harrington Avenue reported they found a golden retriever. The caller eventually reunited the dog with its owner.

5:14 p.m.: Two vehicles were towed after they were involved in a crash on Hartford Turnpike.

5:51 p.m.: A caller reported that a motor vehicle had been stolen from Shrewsbury Green Drive. The vehicle had been towed during the snowstorm.
