Police Log: Dumpster Fire, Crash at UPS

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Jan. 25

10:29 a.m.: Officers responded to a 911 call from an elevator on North Quinsigamond. No one was in the elevator.

12:44 p.m.: A caller from a business on Boston Turnpike reported harassing text messages from an ex employee.

3:16 p.m.: An officer took a report of ongoing suspicious activity on Boylston Street.

4:45 p.m.: A caller from Stoney Hill Road reported an unoccupied vehicle in their driveway. A tow company had dropped the vehicle in the wrong driveway.

5:18 p.m.: Officers responded to a crash at the intersection of South Street and Main Street. One vehicle was towed.

10:11 p.m.: A caller reported a large dumpster fire at a construction site on Morningside Drive. The Shrewsbury Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.

Saturday, Jan. 26

2:09 a.m.: An officer reported that a vehicle had struck the guardrail on Route 9 near Stop and Shop. A vehicle with matching damage was found in the parking lot and towed. An officer called the owner but was unable to make contact.

2:16 a.m.: A person went into the lobby of the Shrewsbury Police Department to report a heavily intoxicated female. Medics transported the female to UMass Medical Center.

3:00 a.m.: An officer issued multiple winter parking ban violations across town.

8:56 a.m.: Three vehicles were involved in a crash on Arrowwood Drive. No injuries were reported.

9:00 a.m.: Two vehicles were towed after they were involved in a crash on Boston Turnpike. One person was transported to the hospital.

10:16 a.m.: A single vehicle crashed in the Memorial Drive entrance to UPS. The vehicle was towed and one person was taken to the hospital.

11:58 a.m.: Two cars crashed at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Hartford Avenue. Both vehicles were towed and one person was taken to the hospital.
