Police Log: Severed Fingers; Alleged Drunk Driver Flees Police

Friday, April 20

11:03 a.m.: A person found an insurance card on the front walkway of the Police Department.

2:55 p.m.: A brush fire was reported on Eaton Place.

5:08 p.m.: The responded to a small mulch fire outside of 200 Boston Tpke.

6:27 p.m.: A caller reported she found three youths inside a house she was house-sitting on Arbor Drive. Police spoke to the caller and the homeowner.

7:26 p.m.: A caller reported a mulch fire outside of her house on Brookdale Circle.

Saturday, April 21

12:21 a.m.: A caller reported an erratic operator on Boston Turnpike. The vehicle was reportedly swerving and continued driving after hitting a jersey barrier. Police followed the vehicle into Worcester, where it crashed at 162 Prescott St. Jason M. Leonard, 30, of 89 Kendall St., Framingham, was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, assault with a dangerous weapon, operating under the influence of alcohol, second offense, operating under the influence of drugs, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, subsequent offense, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, speeding and failing to stop for police.

12:52 p.m.: Police responded to 7 Manor Rd. for the report of a man who cut off two fingers with a table saw.

4:18 p.m.: Police got a call for a sickly looking fox on Phillips Avenue. The person was advised to stay clear of the animal.

7:42 p.m.: There was a motorcycle crash on Maple Avenue.

10:03 p.m.: Police arrested Anibal Lopez-Rodriguez, 19, of 23 Forbes St., Worcester, and charged him with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and a person under 21 in possession of liquor.

Sunday, April 22

12:40 a.m.: A caller from Pleasant View Street got home to find six youths in front of his home. His garage was partially open and his light was on. The kids ran down Pleasant View toward Eaton Street. Police checked the area. Police found the kids on Ira Avenue and talked to them. Parents were spoken to and the kids were picked up.

7:44 a.m.: Vandalism was reported to a mailbox on Main Street. A few minutes later, vandalism was reported to another mailbox down the street.

12:41 p.m.: A person from 31 Worthington Ave. went to the station to report a sign for daycare, reading "Family Fundamentals," was taken from her front lawn overnight.

5:11 p.m.: Police received a call from Westmont Road for an 8-year-old with a finger laceration. The child was taken to UMass.
