Person Injured After Lawn Mower Incident; Two Cars Hit Moose

Friday, Aug. 2

7:38 a.m.: The Animal Control Officer removed a container from a skunk’s head on Wiltshire Drive.

10:09 a.m.: A caller from Price Chopper reported that a male shoplifter made it into the parking lot where he was stopped by employees and the stolen items were given to an employee. Officers located the man and transported him to a hospital because he seemed disoriented.

10:42 a.m.: Medics from the Shrewsbury Fire Department responded to Emerson Circle for a lawn mower accident. The person involved was transported to the hospital.

1:39 p.m.: Officers assisted the Grafton Police Department with recovering a stolen vehicle from Centech Boulevard.

2:22 p.m.: An officer took a report of a theft from Cherry Street.

5:06 p.m.: An officer assisted a resident of Hearthside Circle who had locked their keys and dog in their car.

8:42 p.m.: A 911 caller reported a one-car crash on Sewell Street. A male fled the scene on foot. The car was towed.

9:22 p.m.: Two cars hit a moose on Route 290. Two people were hospitalized. The moose died at the scene.

10:59 p.m.: One person was hospitalized after a two-car crash at the intersection of Route 20 and Route 140.

11:26 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of an assault on Rivelly Street. George Guinto, 49, of 5 Rivelly St., was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery.
