Man Charged with Stealing Thousands in Jewelry From Mother

Also in court, judges ruled on motor vehicle violation cases.

Matthew Morano, 23, of 234 Magill Dr., Grafton, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Grafton police to face charges of breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony and larceny over $250. Judge Vito Virzi released Morano on personal recognizance and set a pretrial hearing for Dec. 10. Police allege Morano took jewelry valued "in the thousands of dollars," from a secure storage area in his mother's home. Last month, Morano was charged with stealing checks from his mother and forging her signature on them. 

Barriet Kyomuhendo, 30, of 45 Maynard St., Apt. 5, Westborough, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Westborough police to face charges of operating with a suspended registration, uninsured motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Judge Vito Virzi found Kyomuhendo responsible on a decriminalized versions of the registration and license charges, ordering payment of $800 in court costs. The uninsured motor vehicle charge was dismissed.

Gurden Singh, 52, of 7 Baldwin Circle, Shrewsbury, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Shrewsbury police to face charges of assault and battery and abuse prevention order violation. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed the charges at the request of prosecutors. 

Stephen P. Higgins, 61, of 41 Reach Rd., Presque Isle, ME, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Northborough police to face a charge of leave the scene of an accident with property damage. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed the charge upon payment of $100 in court costs and upon Higgins supplying proof of insurance.

Cheri Tate, 51, of 64 Norfolk St., Worcester, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Shrewsbury police to face charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, subsequent offense,  speeding, and no license in possession. Judge Vito Virzi found Tate guilty on the suspended license charge, ordering her to serve 60 days in the House of Correction,with the balance to be suspended for 9 months. Tate was found responsible on the speeding charge, which was filed, and not responsible on the license charge. 

Arissa L. Joubert, 23, of 8 Central St., Apt. 3, Westborough, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Westborough police to face a charge of operating with a suspended license. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed the charge upon payment of $200 in court costs. 

Matthew A. Russell, 23, of 70 Spring St., Shrewsbury, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Shrewsbury police to face charges of destruction of property under $250, attempting to commit a crime and possession of burglarious tools. Judge Vito Virzi continued without a finding the destruction of property and burglary tools charges, ordering Russell to serve 50 hours of community service. The attempting to commit a crime charge was dismissed.
