Man Arraigned After Allegedly Assaulting Person Twice

Kyle G. Thomas, 53, of 33 Samuel Dr., N. Grafton, was arrested by Shrewsbury police and charged with two counts of assault and battery, disturbing the peace, breaking and entering in the nighttime for a felony. Judge Robert Calagione ordered Thomas held on $1,000 cash bail and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Feb. 21. According to a police report, officers were first called to an address on Arbor Drive just after midnight on New Year's Eve for a reported domestic disturbance. By the time officers arrived, Thomas had left the scene, but paperwork was undertaken to charge him with assault and battery. Later, around 4:23 a.m., a call from the same neighbor who had called in the original disturbance brought officers back to the address, where they found a man with a bloodied face. The victim of the original assault told police she awoke to sounds of a physical fight and that Thomas was not welcome at the address. 

Liam S. Prifti, 18, of 158 Boylston St., Shrewsbury, was arrested by Shrewsbury police and charged with possession of class D substance with intent to distribute (subsequent offense), conspiracy to violate drug laws, speeding and a seat belt violation. Judge Robert Calagione released Prifti on personal recognizance and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Jan. 17. According to police, after a traffic stop, an officer noticed a strong smell of fresh marijuana coming from the vehicle and upon a search, 10 individually wrapped baggies of marijuana were located. 

Jeffrey D. Larose, 36, of 2 Crescent St., Grafton, was arrested by Grafton police and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery and disorderly conduct. Judge Robert Calagione released Larose on personal recognizance and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Feb. 18. According to police, Larose was arrested following a reported domestic disturbance. When officers escorted Larose's wife into the house to retrieve some belongings,  Larose, who officers said was intoxicated and making repeated comments about their guns, was charged with assault after refusing to let his wife leave and then would not move away from officers. 

Cristiano Silva-nunes, 35, of 54 August St., Worcester, was arrested by Shrewsbury police and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Judge Robert Calagione released Silva-nunes on personal recognizance and set a pretrial hearing for Feb. 20. 

Mario Guzman-Urbina, 34, of 27 Broad St., Apt. 1, Marlborough, was arrested by State Police in Grafton and charged with operating under the influence of liquor and four counts of child endangerment while operating under the influence. Judge Robert Calagione continued without a finding for one year the OIU charge, ordering one year of probation, $600 in fees and costs and completion of a treatment program. The child endangerment charges were dismissed at the request of prosecutors. 

Sarah A. Lucier, 27, of 11 Sadler Ave., Shrewsbury, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Westborough police to face charges of operating with a suspended license and possession of a class E substance. Judge Robert Calagione released Lucier on personal recognizance and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Feb. 21. 

David Firman, 76, of 12 Norback Ave., Worcester, was arrested by summonsed to court on a complaint from Westborough police to face a charge of assault and battery. Judge Robert Calagione released Firman on personal recognizance and scheduled a pretrial hearing for March 28. 

Zachary B. Burnham, 20, of 552 Main St., Apt. 5, Shrewsbury, was arrested by Shrewsbury police and charged with being a person under 21 in possession of alcohol and speeding. Judge Robert Calagione ordered Burnham held on $500 bail and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Jan. 25. According to police, Burnham was the driver of a car spotted by an officer on patrol in the Arch St. area--the site of recent vehicle and house break-ins. The car left the area but was later stopped near Old Brook Rd., where officers found that all occupants were under 21 and found 22 Bud Light cans. 

Brandon Gwynne, 17, of 15 Gordon Rd., Shrewsbury, was arrested by Shrewsbury police and charged with being a person under 21 in possession of liquor. Judge Robert Calagione released him on personal recognizance and set a pretrial hearing for Feb. 7. 

John P. Lynch, 20, of 16 Neptune Dr., Shrewsbury, was arrested by Shrewsbury police and charged with being a person under the age of 21 in possession of alcohol and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Judge Robert Calagione released Lynch on personal recognizance and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Feb. 7. 

Andrew Jennison, 18, of 4 Harvest Rd., Shrewsbury, was arrested by Shrewsbury police and charged with being a person under 21 in possession of alcohol, and an open container violation. Judge Robert Calagione released Jennison on personal recognizance and scheduled a pretrial hearing for April 4.
