Court Cases Include High Speed Chase, Aggravated Assault

A Shrewsbury man faces charges in conjunction with a chase that ended with officers drawing their weapons as the man attempted to ram cruisers with his car to escape. Shaun D. Gray, 19, of 14 Atwood Ln., Shrewsbury, was arraigned Monday in Westborough District Court on charges of operating under the influence, failure to stop for police, a marked lanes violation, speeding, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, defacing or damaging property and assault with a dangerous weapon. 

Judge Vito Virzi ordered Gray held on $500 cash bail and is due back in court on Jan. 23.

Jenna Landry, 24, of 132 Heard St., Worcester, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Grafton police to face a charge of larceny over $250. Judge Vito Virzi released Landry on personal recognizance and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Feb. 1. Police allege Landry sold jewelry taken from a home on Hilltop St. at a Worcester pawn shop. 

Donald F. Williams, 56, of 240 Pearl St., Gardner, was arrested by Northborough police and charged with assault, assault with a dangerous weapon, attempted murder and aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Judge Vito Virzi ordered Williams held on $5,000 cash or $50,000 surety and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Dec. 20. According to a police report, Williams was arrested after an altercation in which he allegedly stabbed another man, claiming he was acting in self-defense after that person attacked him with a baseball bat. Police indicated they would seek a summons to charge the second party with assault as well. 

Javier Manjarres, 22, of 1098 Oakland St., Apt. 18, Springfield, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Westborough police to face four charges of larceny over $250 and shoplifting by asportation. Police allege that Manjarres took a number of items from the Target store while working as an employee. 

Stacia Falconi, 39,of 3 Veterans Circle, S. Grafton, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Grafton police to face charges of operating with a suspended license and license not in possession. Judge Vito Virzi released Falconi on personal recognizance and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Jan. 30. 

Amy West, 60, of 45 Providnence Rd., Apt. 4, Grafton, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Westborough police to face charges of operating an uninsured motor vehicle and operating with a suspended registration. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed both charges upon payment of $300 in court costs.
