Court: Shrewsbury Woman Faces Assault Charges

The following cases were heard in Westborough District Court.

Monday March 5:

Lawrence J. Rainville, 60, of 180 Main St., Shrewsbury, was was summonsed to Westborough District Court after Northborough police filled out a complaint March 3 charging him with OUI liquor, marked lanes violation and lights violation. Judge Vito Virzi found sufficient facts on the first charge, continued the case without a finding until March 5, 2013 and ordered a 45-day loss of license. He was found responsible on the other two charges; the charges were filed.

Andrew Joslin, 19, of 2 Shrewsbury Green Dr., Apt. 2, Shrewsbury, was arrested March 5 by Shrewsbury police and charged with disturbing the peace, assault and threatening to commit a crime. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case to April 13.

Wednesday March 7:

Melissa A. Butler, 38, of 338 Berkley St. Apt. 2, Taunton, was arrested March 6 by Shrewsbury police and charged with shoplifting, receiving stolen property under $250 and conspiracy. Police said they found 6 pounds of Starbucks coffee on the floor of her motor vehicle, which was parked at a CVS Pharmacy. Judge Calagione continued the case to March 29.

Thursday, March 8:

Joshua L. Smith, 30, of 7 Samoset St., Worcester, was arrested March 7 by Shrewsbury police on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case to April 12.

Sean King, 17, of 2 Ridge Rd., Shrewsbury, was summonsed to court by a complaint March 1 by Shrewsbury police and charged with arson of a dwelling and vandalizing property. Police said he set a trash barrel on fire in the bathroom at . Judge Virzi continued the case to May 2.

Friday, March 9:

Ashley Shannon, 25, 33 Chestnut St., Hopkinton, was arrested March 8 by Shrewsbury police on charges of OUI, marked lanes violation and traffic violation on a state highway. Judge Vito Virzi scheduled a pre-trial hearing for April 20.

Jessica M. Mazzarese, 25, 13 Pond Ave., Shrewsbury, was arrested on Oct. 2 by Shrewsbury police on charges of assault and battery. She was arrested at her residence, according to a police report, after going to her aunt’s home to get her 6-month-old daughter. When her aunt objected, Mazzarese, who was intoxicated, according to police, “violently ripped her daughter from her aunt” and went home to “continue to party.” Judge Vito Virzi sentenced her to four months suspended probation, random drug testing and six hours community service per month.

Suban G. Krishnamoorthy, 55, 29 Pal Drive, Shrewsbury, was arrested on Jan. 24 by Shrewsbury police for assault and battery. Judge Robert Gardner dismissed the charges after it was requested by the victim.

Bradley S. Smith, 31, 78 Harrington Farms Way, Shrewsbury, was summonsed to Westborough District Court when Southborough police filled out a complaint Jan. 9, on charges of driving with a suspended license and no inspection sticker. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed the case upon court costs.
