Vote YES

I often feel that I pay enough in federal and state taxes to feed a small country.  Many who feel the same way will vote against any tax increase, regardless of the reason.  However, I support the operational override for Shrewsbury because I know our town is underfunded.  Our town will continue to decline if this override fails.  Our property values will fall and we will all end up paying so much more than this override costs, which for most will be less than a cup of coffee a day.

All 5 members of the Board of Selectmen, all 5 members of the School Committee, all 9 members of the Finance Committee and our State Representative Matt Beaton recognize the need for this override and support it.  These individuals know our town’s economics better than anyone, and not one of them has ever casually dipped into our pockets.

This override will fail unless every supporter votes.  Every. Supporter.  Please do not underestimate the power of your vote.  You see a lot of “Yes” signs around town, but the people who vote “no” are the ones who get to the polls.  We must work hard, together, to outnumber them.
