19 Years Old, Medlinskas Runs For Housing Authority

SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts – My name is John Medlinskas and I am running for one of the four seats for Shrewsbury Housing Authority. I have lived in Shrewsbury my entire life and I am a proud graduate of Shrewsbury High School class of 2013, where it was instilled in us as we entered our freshman year, the importance of volunteerism and giving back to the community. I worked hard to earn a seat as one of the youngest town meeting members and I will work hard to serve as a member of the board to uphold the values and mission of this important position. Although I am 19 years old, I have done a lot of research regarding public housing issues of the town and the responsibility it involves. I am currently a student at Suffolk University majoring in Political Science and was elected Student Senator to a second term. I have been fortunate to have great professors, family members, and friends who have encouraged and mentored me in this endeavor. I have gone door to door meeting several residents to deliver my message and to listen to their ideas and concerns and will continue to until May 6th. It has been an extremely positive experience and has only increased my motivation to run for this position. I am young and have much to learn but I have passion, energy and vision to make a positive difference in the future of Shrewsbury. I hope you find me worthy of your vote.
