Shrewsbury Man Dies of Serious Injuries from Car Crash

Arrangements have been made for John Cherwek.

He leaves his beloved wife of 54 years, Ruby M. (Benson) Cherwek; his two children, Mark Cherwek and his wife Charleen of Quincy, and Tracy May and her husband Steven of North Grafton; his five grandchildren, 2nd Lt. Joseph May, USAF and his wife Arielle, Sean May, Sydney May, John Cherwek and Katherine Cherwek; his sister, Joyce Mentus of Riverside, RI; and three nieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jack’s family on Sunday, Feb. 10 from 3-5 p.m. in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, and on Monday, Feb. 11 from 10-11 a.m. in the Bethlehem Bible Church, 307 Lancaster Street (Route 110) West Boylston. A service of celebration of Jack’s life will then be held at 11 a.m. in the church, followed by burial in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the UMass Memorial Healthcare, UMass Medical Development Office, 33 South St., Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
