Calling Hours for Richard Perron, Former Veterans Agent, on Monday

Richard Perron, longtime veterans agent for Grafton, Shrewsbury and Northborough, died.

Richard E. Perron, 89, who served the veterans for over 27 years in Northborough, Shrewsbury and Grafton, died on Friday, July 19, reported the Community Advocate. 

He leaves his beloved wife of 57 years, Joan (Eisner) Perron of Nova Scotia, Canada; his beloved children, Dorothy Henry and her husband Michael, Donna Renaud her husband Roy, David Perron his wife Stephanie, predeceased daughter Barbara McCandless, all of Northborough, and predeceased infant son Richard Perron. 

He served in World War II, said the Community Advocate, as a Quartermaster in the United States Navy and saw action in every major theater of war, including the Invasion of Sicily in 1943, D-Day in 1944, and the Battle of Okinawa in 1945. He also served six years as a Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a former Commander of American Legion Post #234 of Northborough.
