Animal Specialist Dies in Shrewsbury

Ljupco Kuzmanovski, 84, of Shrewsbury, died.

Ljupco Kuzmanovski, of Shrewsbury, died Wednesday, July 18 at UMASS Medical Center. He was 84.

Ljupco, known to many as Louis, was born on February 25, 1928 in Bitola, Macedonia a son of the late Metodiga and Mirija (Nikolova) Kuzmanovski and emigrated to the United States 1967. Raised and educated in Macedonia he and his brothers owned and operated a textile manufacturing company.

Upon settling in the United States he worked in the animal laboratory department at UMASS Memorial Medical Center and later at Astra Zeneca Corporation in Westborough.

Louis was an avid soccer enthusiast and worked alongside his late son, Kiril "Kiro" Kuzmanovski at "Kiro's Soccer Camp" in Shrewsbury for many years. Louis is remembered as a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather. He had a terrific sense of humor and wit and enjoyed the company of his family and friends.

In addition to his son, Kiro, who died May 11, 2008 he is predeceased by his brothers, Aleksander and Tome Kuzmanovski.

He leaves his wife of 60 years, Marija (Nikolova) Kuzmanovski; his daughter, Sonja Altiparmakov of Shrewsbury; his grandchildren, Vanessa Kuzmanovski of Millbury and Dimitar Altiparmakov of New York City; his brothers, Boris Kuzmanovski in Germany and Dimitar Kuzmanovski in Macedonia.

Family and friends will honor and remember Louis' life by gathering for calling hours at , 5 Church Rd., On the Common, Shrewsbury Center on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning where his funeral service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
