True Democracy: The Voters Will Decide the Future Path of the Town

I encourage Shrewsbury voters to vote “YES” on the Operational Override question at the Special Town Election June 3rd from 7 AM to 8 PM. It is up to the voters to decide if they wish to maintain our high level of municipal services provided at an average tax bill that compares very favorably with both our neighbors and with comparable communities, or if they prefer a transformation to a very different community with a much lower level of educational and municipal services.

I suggest voters not be misled by inaccurate fear mongering, the last resort of those who cannot provide anything better to support their position. To suggest that this is the “First in a Series of Permanent Overrides” is an insult to the only body that may approve such a question, the voters of the town.
