Shrewsbury – March 6, 2014 Paul Campaniello today announced that he is seeking reelection for the office of Shrewsbury Housing Authority at the Town of Shrewsbury’s Annual Election on May 6, 2014.  The Shrewsbury Housing Authority is a six member board composed of four elected officials, one gubernatorial appointee and the executive director of the housing authority.  Campaniello has served on the board since May 2009 when he was unanimously elected to the position by the voters of Shrewsbury.

Shrewsbury Housing Authority is a duly organized public housing agency whose mission is to offer its residents a clean, safe and well-maintained living environment. Campaniello is currently Chairman of the Board, overseeing more than 235 units of elderly housing, 25 family units throughout the town, and 170 section 8 vouchers.

“Having lived in this community for nearly 50 years, it's an honor and privilege to be able to give back in a variety of ways,” said Campaniello. “As a parent of two young children, I believe it is import to teach them the value of community service and lead by example.”

During Campaniello’s tenor, the housing authority has built five new family units on Ridgeland Road and successfully launched a new web site, giving its members access to a variety of information, including specific wait list information.

Campaniello was born and raised in Shrewsbury and has lived in the community his entire life. In addition to currently serving as Chairman of the Shrewsbury Housing Authority, he has also been a Town Meeting Member since 1989 and was a founding member of Shrewsbury Oil Assistance Relief (SOAR). SOAR was founded to provide emergency oil deliveries to Shrewsbury residents who have run out of oil and need help until more permanent assistance can be provided.
