Shrewsbury Voters Approve $5.5M Override

Voters in Shrewsbury on June 3, overwhelmingly approved of a proposal to raise their taxes. 
The $5.5 million Proposition 2 1/2 override ballot question was approved of by town residents by a vote of 7,100, to 3,704, according to the unofficial results released by the town clerk. 
Yes voters swamped No voters by two-to-one margins in most of the 10 precincts. In Precinct 3, voters rejected the override by 80 votes; in Precinct 2, voters said Yes, but only by 74 votes. In Precinct 7, the Yes voters prevailed by a three-to-one margin, according to the results.
