Taco Bell Drops Kid's Meals and Toys

Taco Bell is doing away with kid's meals.

Going out for tacos will be less alluring for kids, at least at Taco Bell, which announced that has plans to discontinue its kids meals and toys, according to a press release posted by the company.

Taco Bell said it will be the first national fast food chain to do away with the kids meals and toys, and that select restaurants will begin the process in July, with all completed by January of 2014.

Taco Bell has a location at 21 South Quinsigamond Ave. in Shrewsbury.

“As we continue our journey of being a better, more relevant Taco Bell, kid’s meals and toys simply no longer make sense for us to put resources behind,” said Greg Creed, chief executive officer of Taco Bell, in the release. “What does make sense is concentrating on expanding choices that meet and exceed the diverse needs of consumers of all ages, without losing focus on what makes us great today.”

Menu items on the current Kid’s Meals Menu will remain available individually on the regular menu, including the Crunchy Taco, Soft Taco, Bean Burrito and Cheese Roll-up.
