We post a roundup of restaurant openings and closings in the area.

Have you noticed a new restaurant while driving around the MetroWest area recently? We know you don't just stay in town when you want to eat out: so here is a round-up of restaurant news around the area.

Framingham Family Opens Take-out Mexican Restaurant

Mexico City Taquería specializes in tacos, burritos, and other Mexican dishes. Readers are already raving about the burritos, tacos, and fresh salsa and chips.

Outback Steakhouse opened in Framingham, in the location of the former Big Papi's location, the weekend of Jan. 26.  Framingham Frescafe, a new breakfast spot, also opened at 82 Concord St. And, finally, the new Chef Orient, owned by the same owner as Samba Steak & Sushi, opened in late January.

Route 9 Restaurant Closes Its Doors

Also this month, Top Shelf Restaurant became the first to close in town in 2013. The owners wrote on the restaurant's Facebook page that the closure was forced by town fees and regulations, combined with the economic times.

Bushel 'N Peck Opens in Grafton

This sandwich shop and deli replaced the Branded Bear on Route 140 - just a quick ride up the street from the Mass Pike exit. One reader notes the fish and chips there are "better than any...in Grafton."

Quattro Opens at Hopkinton Square

Quattro, a sit-down restaurant serving primarily Italian food, opened last week in Hopkinton Square.

Little Caesars to Expand Into Marlborough

Pizza pizza! Little Caesars this month announced plans to open a location in Marlborough.

Starbucks to Open By September

Medfield-area residents wanting their Starbucks fix will have to wait a bit to get it in town—but by the fall, they will be able to sip their coffee in the chain's new downtown location.

When did Grafton become MetroWest? That's Worcester. I hear there is a new restaurant coming to Wayland! Can you tell us more about it? I'm more apt to travel to Sudbury & Wayland than Grafton from my office in Framingham.

The burritos were out of this world and not expensive. So much better than taco bell

Indeed: Grafton is part of Worcester County - the grouping of it with towns near Framingham is simply how our Patch region is drawn up. Point taken! I don't know about the Wayland restaurant; perhaps our counterparts at Wayland Patch can steer you in the right direction! http://wayland.patch.com/
