Coming from a Middle Eastern background, Donna Bayrouty found herself with a lot of bodily hair and had always been self-conscious about it. It was truly debilitating. Her mother, sent Bayrouty and her three sisters to an electrologist and it changed her life.
“That’s why I decided to get into this business. I had other jobs but none were as gratifying as this because I understood,” said Bayrouty.
She worked in Worcester for about 35 years as an electrologist. This business, Laserderm MEDI-SPA opened two years ago.
“I had this vision of a multi-service medical spa and I have fulfilled it. I do the electrolysis and photo facials. I have an aesthetician, manager and a nail technician who rents space,” Bayrouty said.
The aesthetician does facials, ear candling, waxes and more. There are also physicians who come on certain days and do laser liposuction. These board certified physicians, Dr. Rick Freniere and Dr. Paul Willis have been practicing for years. They also do skin resurfacing, cellulite treatment and injectables like Botox, Radiesse, Juvederm and more. Their goal is to provide their clients with the latest technology and an individualized approach to minimally invasive, office based body contouring and sculpting.
Laserderm MEDI-SPA offers permanent makeup for the eyebrows, eyeliner, lip liner as well as eyelash extensions can be scheduled.
“The woman we have doing this is unbelievable. The reason she is so special is because only 5 percent of the population in this country does this by hand and she is one of them. It looks just like real hair,” said Bayrouty.
The products used at Laserderm MEDI-SPA are all medical grade products. Some of these products include Skin Ceuticals and Environ, which are used for facials. These products are available for purchase and include glycolics, vitamin A and C, correctors and more.
Laserderm MEDI-SPA also carries a line of Usana health bars. They offer make up application for individuals and large groups like weddings and bridal parties. There are many things that make this facility different from others that may offer some of the same services. Privacy is a key component to this business’s success.
“There are many clients who literally come in the front door and exit through the back. We are all very professional. Discretion is important here,” said Bayrouty.
One of the misconceptions that Bayrouty shared about this industry is that not everyone is a candidate for laser. Some places do not convey that and simply provide the service. She is very honest and upfront with her clients and prides herself on the trust she builds with her clients.
Once you walk through the doors of Laserderm MEDI-SPA, you are immediately put into a space that is filled with colors of the beach; pale greens and blues. The setting is serene and calm.
Bayrouty loves to help people. “People tell me that they can’t wait to come back. We make our clients feel special,” she added.
