Buffalo Wild Wings Coming to Shrewsbury This Fall

The new restaurant will fill the space vacated by Borders in 2011.

It has been two years since Borders closed on Route 9, but progress is underway to open a Buffalo Wild Wings in the expansive empty building.

Pat Lennox, a partner with Buffalo Wild Wings, met with the Board of Selectmen this week to ask for an all alcohol license for the business.

"The license got approved by the town, but now we need to get approval from the ABCC [Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission] before we can move forward," Lennox said.

The building is under-contract with Buffalo Wild Wings and Lennox said he hopes to close on the property in the coming months.

"The plan is to open in October, but we have a lot of remodeling to do before then," Lennox said.

Television ads for the restaurant, whose tagline is the simple "Wings. Beer. Sports," can be seen across the state. There are currently three locations in Massachusetts: Fitchburg, Saugus and Danvers.

The proposed hours are Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
