Spirit of Shrewsbury Names Grand Marshal

Isabelle Chang has been named the Grand Marshall.

The Spirit of Shrewsbury Fall Festival recently announced that its Grand Marshal for the seventeenth annual festival is Isabelle Chang (formerly Chin). The Spirit of Shrewsbury takes place from Sept. 27 through Sept. 29 in Shrewsbury, with a series of events, including a scarecrow contest, in town.   

Chang has lived in the town of Shrewsbury more than 60 years, according to the press release, and met her Chinese-born husband Min Chueh Chang in 1948.

They had two daughters and a son: Claudia Chang Tourtellote, Pamela O’Malley Chang, and Francis Hugh Chang. 

"Education has been a priority in Isabelle’s life. She holds several Master’s degrees from Yale University, Clark University and Anna Maria College. Her degree in library science is from Simmons College. For many years, Isabelle worked at the Shrewsbury Public Library and the Shrewsbury Junior- Senior High School library. She has enriched and touched the lives of many Shrewsbury students."
