Founded in 1971 by a small group of animal lovers in Needham and Wellesley, Dog Orphans has been located in Douglas, MA since 1997. The mission of Dog Orphans is to take in abused, abandoned and unwanted dogs. It is a no-kill shelter that makes sure all our orphans spayed, neutered, given the appropriate vaccines, groomed and nurtured until they can find their forever home. Dog Orphans relies solely on donations to provide these services.
