Commerce Collects Food for Worcester County Food Bank

Offices throughout Central Massachusetts are collecting food for Worcester County Food Bank.

Commerce Bank announced that its 13 offices throughout Central Massachusetts are collecting donated food items for the Worcester County
Food Bank, to help it feed hungry people living in 60 cities and towns in the region.

“The Worcester County Food Bank provides critical services to those in need in our community,” said Commerce Bank president and CEO Brian Thompson. “We encourage our customers and the public to help the Food Bank fulfill its important mission by dropping off non-perishable food items in our offices’ collection bins.”

“Hunger affects an individual, then a family, and ultimately a community,” said Jean McMurray, executive director of the Worcester County Food Bank. “Commerce Bank and their loyal customers are members of a community that cares about ending hunger. The food generously donated to their food drive provides help and hope to our neighbors throughout Worcester County.”

Non-perishable food items can be dropped off through Friday, Nov. 16, at the following Commerce Bank locations:

• Holden - 1057 Main St.

• Leominster - 565 Main St.

• Marlborough - 322 Maple St.

• Milford - 91 Main St.

• Shrewsbury - 226 Boston Turnpike

• Webster - 25 Worcester Road

• Westborough - 5 East Main St.

• West Boylston - 320 West Boylston St.

• Worcester - 386 Main Street, 11 Park Ave/, 560 Park Ave., 993 Grafton St. and 451 Lincoln St.

About the Worcester County Food Bank

The Worcester County Food Bank is Central Massachusetts’ largest anti-hunger organization,
distributing over 5 million pounds of donated food and grocery product annually in partnership
with food donors, financial supporters, and volunteers. The Food Bank provides this product
to a network of 149 partner agencies that have programs for feeding people, including food
pantries, community meal programs, and shelters. In fiscal year 2012, the Food Bank and
its partner agencies provided food assistance to 99,535 different people living in Central
