About the Presentation:

Esther Howland, known as the Mother of the American Valentine, was born in Worcester, MA in 1828. She is credited with creating handmade cards and spreading the love for Valentine's cards across America. Howland's company eventually became the American Valentine Company.

About the Presenter:

Come meet Victoria Belisle, interpreter at Old Sturbridge Village, as she portrays Esther Howland in the first person in period costume. She will be discussing her life and creating Valentine's cards of her own.
