Shrewsbury Wins Freedom Grant; After Dark at SHARC

1. The final "After Dark" event at Shrewsbury Health and Racquet Club is on Friday, Aug. 23, featuring a luau with DJ Marc Anthony. The event includes an outside pool party with music, games, food from the Bull Pen. It's BYOB (but if you are drinking, swimming is not allowed). 

2. The First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury has opened signups for its annual fall picnic. Check out its Facebook page to learn more. 

3. Every Friday is "Seafood Friday" at the Lakeside Bar and Grille,"so you can enjoy a selection of baked haddock, baked scallops, fish and chips (made with haddock) and some delicious clam chowder."

4. Reader Robbin Miller posted "Congratulations to the Town of Shrewsbury for receiving the New Freedom Grant for transportation for elders and for persons with disabilities."
