Library Volunteer Training; FreedomSong for Veterans
Here's what we think you should know on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
1. Shrewsbury historian Michael Perna announced that he's got a new book coming out this fall that captures Shrewsbury through photos. It's a must for anyone who has lived in, and is interested in, the town. Oh, and it makes a nice gift.
2. There is a mandatory meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 4, for those young adults who wish to volunteer at the Shrewsbury Public Library. There is no registration required for this drop-in training program, which takes about an hour.
3. The Freedomsong Festival is coming up this weekend at Veterans Inc. in Shrewsbury. Featuring U2 tribute The Joshua Tree, this event raises money for homeless veterans.
4. Munchkin Yoga starts on Friday, Sept. 6, at 11:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m, according to SHARC's Facebook page. "Let your young yogis get more flexible, become more centered and focused, be more aware of their body and learn basic relaxation techniques."
5. The church picnic at the First Congregational Church is less than two weeks away. Have you signed up?
