Shrewsbury native Mike Birbiglia brings his show "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend" to the Hanover Theatre in Worcester on Friday, March. 8. The show was rescheduled from March 7. In the show, Barbiglia "shares a lifetime of romantic blunders and miscues that most adults would spend a lifetime trying to forget. On this painfully honest journey, Birbiglia struggles to find reason in an area where it may be impossible to find... love," it says on hanovertheatre.org. Think you know your stuff? The Shrewsbury Public Library is again hosting its "Pizza Supper and Pop Culture Trivia Night." Registration is required for this event, which is Monday, March 4, at 6:30 p.m. Unlike most teen events, said organizers, this family trivia is open to the entire family, even younger siblings. Teams can be made up of as few as two people, with as many as six. There must be someone in at least fifth grade on each team. Questions are geared towards middle school, high school and adults. "Pitch Perfect" won the teen vote, with 66 percent voting it as the film to kick off Youth Vacation Week at the Shrewsbury Library. The film will be shown Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. and includes a pizza lunch. The movie is PG-13 and requires registration, which you can do here.
Fun With Hands is an elevated take on the familiar duo, and it has a lot of fun with cover tunes. For one, its setlist is an eclectic mix reflecting a myriad of flavors and decades. Available to all Shrewsbury families is a parenting strategies course, a nine-week cirriculum designed for parents or guardians who are interesting in learning some helpful strategies. Dr. Madeleine K. Albright presents "The Courage to Listen: Maintaining Civility in Discourse, Discussion and Decision-Making in the Years Ahead at St. John's High School on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 7 p.m. As it says on St. John's website, Dr. Albright "was ambassador to the United Nations from 1991 until 1997, when she became Secretary of State during the Clinton administration until 2001.
